MOON isn't ready for iPhone Duo yet.
Outer displayWorks
The outer screen is regular iPhone size, so every app runs normally there.
Inner displayLetterboxed
Version built Aug 18, 2023, before Apple opened Duo builds on Oct 5. It can't use the full inner display.

What this means for you
This version was built before Apple accepted iPhone Duo builds, so on the inner display it opens in a smaller window with empty space around it.
Folded, on the outer display, it works like on any iPhone. The fix has to come from the developer: an update built with the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
Tap "I want this" to show the developer that Duo owners are waiting.
No updates since October 5. App Store data checked just now.
