Using WhatsApp on iPhone Duo
WhatsApp is mostly chats and calls. On the inner display, the useful change would be the chat list next to the open conversation, and bigger video calls.
Make sure you have the newest version
- Open the App Store, tap your profile picture, then pull down to refresh the list.
- If the app is listed under updates, tap Update. Then read the What's New text for iPhone Duo or the inner display.
- To get future versions without checking, turn on App Updates in Settings > App Store.
What to check after each WhatsApp update
- Open a chat and check whether the chat list stays visible beside it.
- Start a video call unfolded, then fold the phone. The call should continue on the outer display.
- Open a photo or video someone sent and look for black bars in the viewer.
- Record a voice message with the keyboard up.

WhatsApp Web is built for computer browsers, so on the phone the app is the only option. Notifications and incoming calls come from iOS and work the same either way.
